Minnesota Parks

Enjoy Family Outing, Sports, Kids Entertainment and more at Minnesota Parks

Minnesota park Minnesota has numerous state parks strewn all around the state. The parks were created in attempt to preserve parts of the state in their most natural condition.

The Voyagers National Park is on the other hand the only national park that is fully designated in this area and consists of a collection of numerous lakes and forests.

The park offers a host of fun activities that include boating, fishing, hiking and cross-country skiing. Canoeing and kayaking are also popular water sports in the national park.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is responsible for the management and maintenance of state parks. As a result, the parks are always in excellent condition for visitors to explore the ton of recreation activities available. There are well groomed nature trails in all these parks, which make way for exciting hiking through the beautiful scenery of forests and along lakes. Hiking trails vary from easy flat trails through which you can stroll through the parks to more challenging trails of steeper and rougher terrain for those who are up to the challenge.

Biking is another activity to explore on state park trails. Besides the forested trails, there are paved trails that make biking a lot easier especially for the less experienced cyclists.

There are campgrounds in the state parks where your family can opt to spend some vacation nights under the star filled Minnesota skies, around a camp fire. During the day, make sure to sample the various picnic sites around the parks.

Fishing is another interesting activity that visitors to state parks are always eager to undertake, as boat rental is available in the parks and armed with your fishing gear, you will be sure to catch a wide variety of fish species abundant in all the state parks in this area. During winter, ice fishing can be exciting for anglers who want to explore what lies under the thick sheets of ice. For a quiet fishing experience, you can head to fishing piers in the parks, sit by the lake and enjoy the lovely scenery around as you catch fish.

Minnesota state parks have exciting sports that include water sports such as canoeing and kayaking. Golf, volleyball, tennis, baseball and soccer are also available in the parks. All the equipment needed for these sports are easily accessible for rental.

Hunting is allowed in some of the state parks under specific stipulations. There is a wide variety of game birds in this area such as pheasants, grouse and waterfowl as well as other game such as deer, bear, antelopes and moose. The state parks have been designed to suit the entire family and therefore, playgrounds have been incorporated in the parks for the children. Horse riding is also available and is an exciting way to tour. Various lodging options within the state park areas are available. They include restaurants, cabins, villas, bed and breakfasts and boarding rooms.

Besides the natural state parks, Minnesota is known for many recreational indoor and outdoor water parks. These parks have a wide range of fun activities such as wave pools, slides, kids’ pools and lazy rivers. These parks have been established within water park resorts which are open throughout the year. Minnesota parks offer a great outdoor experience during all seasons of the year.

Even in winter, you will enjoy a host of activities that can include snowboarding, tubing, ice skating and skiing. The parks are a combination of all the natural attractions of the state’s forests, lakes and vast meadows that offer the perfect grounds for all the exciting recreation activities.
