Birding and bird watching has considerable economic benefits to the state. It is estimated that the bird watching industry also generates around $80 billion in revenue for the State through taxes, fees and other charges.

Bird watching helps with the conservation of birds and wildlife services in Minnesota. The money generated from these activities is also put into research studies and the conservation of bird species as well as improvement of wildlife parks and other similar activities.

Here are some tips for birding and bird watching. First, if you want to go on a watching trip, you must budget for equipments, transport, food and accommodation. Some of the equipment you need to carry with you are things like binoculars, cameras, camping accessories, sunscreen, water and note book.

Second, visit your local travel agents first for detailed information or use the internet to book your travels. Itís also important to know where exactly you should begin, places to visit and bird species that interest you.

Third, register and join your local bird watching association for regular updates, events and sharing of ideas and thoughts. Through this association, youíll have chance to meet with people with a similar interest and discuss related issues concerning birding and bird watching in general. So if you have never tried the bird watching activity then your next visit or vacation to Minnesota will be your chance, just make sure to come in late spring for the best results.
